Now this is the same basic desighn as a spud gun except that it fires tennis balls and is usauly used as a mortar more than an actaul gun.

materials:
pringles(yes the patato chips)can
duct tape
wd-40
fuse/igniter)
super glue
stand(optional)
wood


to make the tennis ball mortar u first buy about 4 things of pringles. Eat the chips and save the container. Now take the lids of all of them and cut off the bottom panel(EXCEPT FOR ONE!) now u should be able to look right through them. Now take the one that still has a bottom and drill a hole very close to the bottom. this is where ur going to spray the wd-40 in and if ur using a fuse this is where u will enter the fuse. Now take another can and stack it ontop of that one. super glue it and let it dry. Repeat this process until u have all the cans stacked on top of eachother. Then take the duct tape and aply to the joints(where 1 can meets another.) make sure it is nice and tight. Then put one layer around where the hole is drilled near the bottom. u should be able to see where the whole is with the tape over it. mark it with a mark where it is. Now just rap the whole thing in duct tape. tape about 5 layers around the thing. make sure u keep marking where that hole is with a marker. now when ur finished duct taping take a drill or knife and cut through the duct tape where the mark is until u get to that hole. u should now easily be able to spray into the mortar and insert ur fuse. Now to make the stand. Now wat u do is take the wood and and nail it to look like and \"L\". Then cut thick grooves into the long part of it. make them big enough so u can stick another piece of wood in and be stable. Now flip it so it so the long side is on the ground. It should look like an \"L\" turned 90 degrees to the left.now take another piece of wood thats long enough to reach all the way across the L and fit into the grooves u cut earlier easily. now take ur mortar and duct tape it to the board. Now to aim all u do it put that wood in the groove u want. For example. If u put it in the last groove(the one farthest away from the part of the L sticking up)it will shoot more straight. but if it put it in the first groove(the one closest to the part of the L sticking up)it will shoot almost exactly straight up. So u just need to learn how far each groove shoots. After u get use to this u can make another stand with more grooves to provide better accrucey. The best spot to fire ur mortar from is on top of a hill hill or another high place where u can see better. bet u will also need to take into consideration that hiegth affects the range of the tennis balls.


Here is something fun that i thought up but have never tried. Mabey if u soak the tennis balls in gas when u set off the mortar the tennis ball will catch on fire. sending a flamming flying projectile through the air. I have never tried this but i plan to in the near future.
