INTRO:
if you don’t want to read this skip down to the bold.

Have you ever been watching a movie on google videos or youtube and the video was too small and you were all ready far into the video and didn’t want to hit full screen, because you couldn’t wait for it to load. Have you ever been playing a game with a screen that is too big or too small? Here is your solution.

Welcome to my newest egg. Today I will not only be showing you the link to a helpful and cool extension for Firefox Browser. I will also be giving you a short tutorial so you can begin to understand it. It is very simple to use once you get the hang of it. If you have edited HTML code before this shouldn’t be remotley challenging.

Now let’s get started

This extension is called firebug the link to download it is: here

Now in this tutorial i’m going to show you how to resize a video on youtube to your preference. Remember this is only one thing you can do with it, the possiblities are virtually unlimited.

STEP 1. Download firebug and open up firefox to the video you want to make bigger/smaller.

STEP 2. Click on the circle with the white check in it. It’s in the bottom right hand corner.

STEP 3. Once you click the button, a small window should appear on the bottom of your browser window. It may be blank or full of HTML code.

STEP 4. Now this part takes practice. Start searching through the lines of code in the /inspector tab/ until you find something similar to this. What you are looking at is the line of code telling the page how big the video screen should be.

STEP 5. Now just click the number after width and enter how big you want the video screen and hit ENTER, i’m choosing 900 pixels.

STEP 6. Do the exact same thing as STEP 5. except this time you are choosing how tall the video screen is going to be. I’m choosing 900 pixels again. You can make it however big or small you want.

STEP 7. Now once you are done and you have got the video screen to the desired width and height, you can close the firebug window and enjoy the clip.

(Notice the size of the video)

REMEMBER there are unlimited possibilities for this extension.

IMPORTANT: if you click BACK and then FORWARD on the browser, the settings will go back to default, in other words you have to repeat step 1 - 7 all over again. This is only temporary because you don’t own the webpage you will be editing!

I hope you will find use for this in the future.

until my next egg,
