My brother and I were hanging out one Wednesday afternoon, skateboarding on our driveway, when a conversation sparked about the forest behind our backyard. We suddenly had a strong urge to go explore it, so we put our skateboards down, I ran in and grabbed my camera, and we started off on our way.
The house was only two places down from ours and the owners had packed up and left over a month ago, so we weren’t too worried about anyone giving us a hard time about sneaking behind their house.
This is the unoccupied house.
This is the front of the forest behind it.
There was already a pathway cleared for us, and since the forest was so dense, and we didn’t have any real hiking gear, we decided to check it out before anything else.
The forest opens up.
We walked along the path.
And continued to walk along the path.
There is an old beach ball off to the side in the bushes.
What the #%!@?! We stumble upon a #%!@ed up and stripped computer with old, used fireworks inside it.
Behind the computer was a barricade of fallen trees, probably caused by a hurricane a while ago. I live in South Florida.
I really hate landscape style photographs. I just take them every once in a while because I feel like I have to.
Normally, this is where we would stop, thinking it was the end of the path, but we were feeling especially adventurous today, so we decide to climb over and continue on.
The path continues on. Who knew?!
What’s this?! It looks like.. it can’t possibly be..
IT IS..
Anyone able to tell the sex?
I spotted a hand shovel, some fertilizer, and about twenty empty water bottles, obviously used for taking care of it.
Then, some guy popped out of the bushes and asked me to take a picture of him with it.
I had him take a picture of me with some pizzas that we brought with us.
We stared at it in amazement for almost ten minutes before we decided to head out. On my way out, I tried to take some artistic photos of the plants around me. Unfortunately, there was little light, so it was difficult.
Then we left the forest. I came back the next day and found a kid sitting there, with his back to me, tending to it. So I ran away.
I compiled all of these photos in full resolution for you to download here.
THE END
