After just fixing my Xbox 360, I discovered a quick mod that helps keep your Xbox cooler.
Warning: Opening your Xbox voids its warranty, so don’t do this if you don’t wish to void it.
On with the egg.
Step one:
Get your Xbox. Obviously, you need to unplug all wires from it.

Step two:
Pull off the face plate. It should just pop off

Step three:
By where my toe and fingers are, are little latches. Simply stick a flat screwdriver, knife, or scissors underneath them and they should unlatch.
Typing out the damn tags is annoying..
Step four:
Just pull the top half of the white casing off. It shouldnt want to come off in the back, but keep pulling and it should come undone without breaking it.
The code for the urls is prolly gonna fail too..
Step five:
There are several silver screws on the outside edge, but only the ones I marked with a sharpie need to be removed. Unfortunately, I don’t know the size of the allen wrench needed.

Once the screws are out, the plastic case and another thin metal sheet underneath that should come off on the other side. This is what the inside should look like.

Step six:
Take out the disc drive. Theres two black wires in the back, just simply pull them out, pull the drive out, and set it aside.

Step seven:
That white peice of plastic in the top right of the picture above is what we are going to remove. Just wiggle it out, being careful not to break or bend anything else around it.
Did the code fail or did it work?
Step eight:
Plug the drive back in. PLug the two black wires back in, and set the drive in place. Theres four tan spots on the circuit board, this is where the four screw holes in the disc drive should sit.

Step nine:
Put all the screws back in place, and put the shell back on. If you don’t remember how, then just read those parts of the guide in reverse order.

Your Xbox should now be running cooler. I can now leave mine running for days without having to let it cool down. It might still get warm, but it shouldnt be close to as warm as it was before. While you’re inside, it wouldnt help to clean out the fans either.
